With a postgraduate academic degree in Botany and a Crochetprenuer at heart, Knot_Cottage is winning over customers’ hearts with their authentic designs and craftsmanship on Instagram. Inspired from Youtube videos and Pinterest, Knot_Cottage launched their business along with their first item, a Hello Kitty Beanie hat in February of 2023 and has since been focusing on customer satisfaction with their quality pieces and services.
Everything aside, they chose crochet as according to the Crochetprenuer,
‘Crocheting is so therapeutic. Crocheting relieves anxiety, relaxes mind and reduce stress and gives you a sense of satisfaction by increased level of productivity’.
The ideation process and dureé is said to depend on the type of item and the complexity of the patterns. For simple patterned items viz., tote bags, coasters, bookmarks, mittens and small sized dolls it takes only a few days or so. Bigger items such as cardigans and large sized dolls are completed in about a week’s time.
‘The store’s best selling items are the Coasters and tote bags’, added Knot_Cottage.
The young Crochetpreneur commented that the qualities which any small business owner should possess are patience, understanding and the zeal to deal with multifarious customers, be it the rude or the kind. They further stated that in order to make money, one ought to be disciplined and professional at any time and situation.
On being enquired about the aspirations of the brand, cited that they aspire to run for as long as there is demand from the customers and said that there are no limitations in spreading its wings.
‘A fun fact about me? I am super good at bargaining while shopping for yarn that I have been complimented on several occasions by the shopkeepers themselves.’ Knot_cottage triumphantly recounted.
