About the author
My name is Sentisuba, a part-time writer and a full-time art fanatic. I’m currently pursuing my PhD at Nagaland University.
There isn’t a core story that might have dictated my interest and inclination into writing but it was more so a gradual and ongoing hobby of sorts and even now it is. A fair amount of really terrible poems and pieces later I started to actually enjoy it however amateur the writing might have been because self-expression is a native emotion in every human being and maybe through my hobby of writing, I felt I had found my outlet. I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to publish my work under Penthrill Publication and in February of 2021 my debut book, “Letters for Strangers” was released.
It is really difficult not just in Nagaland but our country as well for a full-time writer to sustain on book sales alone and so it becomes a gamble to fully commit to writing. But that being said, the writing still goes on.
I personally feel that there are a lot of subjects one can talk about and address. Some are a little more uncomfortable than the others but nonetheless needs to be talked about and that might be the direction my future projects would incline to ink on.
I feel there is this revival of art and literature in our state because of the platform provided by the internet and the general awareness of its importance as society progresses into modernity. And I shall be careful to say that I don’t mean to imply it was nonexistent because the growth of today’s art scene is a testament to past aesthetes and bibliophiles in our state. And it really is thrilling to be in the midst of the process of something wonderful that has gained momentum only in the past few years and I believe it will only get exciting as time proceeds.
