Pangphoa W Kannam, a freelance photographer, draws his inspiration for his art from nature, diversity and his personal experience. He tries to observe tiny details of nature and capture them. Through his art form, he aims to develop and know himself more as an individual as well as connect with people emotionally and psychologically. He wants to portray the world as how a child sees it, in its true, pure, unfiltered state.  

 He added that his father influenced him to venture into photography since his father owned a camera and he was a curious kid, what pushed him even further was his interest in gadgets and electronic devices. He purchased his own camera with his own earnings and hard work while he was studying. He said he was lucky to have friends who were happy to have their pictures taken so he took it as an opportunity to improve himself as a photographer.

He began his journey of capturing pictures as healing for himself but soon became a career. He is one of the winners of ‘Enchanting Nagaland 2021 Photography Competition’ organised by The Department of Tourism, Govt. of Nagaland.
