P7 Allure

Her story

A young entrepreneur, Ben Pamei, has her own clothing brand called P7 Allure, P stands for her surname Pamei, 7 is her favorite number and 7 is also the total number of her family members. Allure to her means creativity, a vision, imagination and part of her fantasy.

She started her business on August 12, 2021, before that she tried making lingerie but gave up because of a shortage of quality fabric in Dimapur. She began her clothing business as a hobby as she was bored and had nothing to do, she wanted to start something for fun but without even realizing it blew up and became a brand.

To begin her business she borrowed some money from her parents promising to return it. She bought some thrift clothes with that money and started selling them online, she even re-stitched some of the clothes for better fit and surprising sold out within a short period of time. With the revenue, she bought a sewing machine and materials to make her clothes and build her brand. Now she has 4 sewing machines, has rented an apartment as her workplace and since she is still a student and is not professionally trained she has hired 2 employees who are trained tailors.

She designs her clothes and when we asked her how she gets her inspiration she replied that these are all the design and patterns that she personally wants to wear but is either not available in the market or expensive. Her design mainly focuses between the age group of 20 to 25, are mostly party wear, with unique design, reasonable, high quality, fashionable and can be worn multiple times with a different look that’s the reason why most of her creations are two-piece dresses.

The purpose why she started her brand was that she wanted to see her own brand label on the clothes she designed. When she was selling thrift clothes she had no way of doing that. She wanted recognition for the hard work she was putting in. It was also part of her fantasy to imprint her name on her clothes.

Pamei told us a little bit about her story and journey from pain to fulfillment and happiness. She wanted to be a doctor ever since she could remember, she was a good student with good grades. She has always dreamt of studying MBBS and pursuing her dream job. After her 12th standard, she decided to sit for her entrance exam and followed by multiple years of trying to clear but for certain criteria she could not clear her exam which demotivated her and she went into a really dark place mentally. But she saw the light at the end of the tunnel when she started building her brand, she finally found something to look forward to. She realized then that God’s ways are higher than ours, his plans are better than ours. Now she loves what she does, gets time for herself, and is also a lady boss at such a young age.

Her advice to our reader is to never doubt yourself and God sees you and your potential even when you don’t. God has a purpose and has given talent to everyone. Don’t listen to society and sometimes even we discourage ourselves by self-doubt, don’t think about what people think. Initially, people around her said a lot of things when her business started. When you live by their judgments you can never do your best, you can never reach your potential. But when she stopped listening to the naysayers she could fulfill her dreams. Don’t only focus on money but with Talent and hard work wealth and happiness will eventually come.
