Iboli Zhimo
Introduction
Iboli Zhimo is the youngest among three siblings. She is a native of Satakha sub division under Zunheboto district. She completed her masters in history. She is a self taught pebble artist and a pioneer of pebble arts in Nagaland. Also, the proprietor and founder of @listonestudio (founded in 2016). Her interest in art is about expression. It gives a voice to the thoughts and feelings. She describes it as her own therapy. Inspired by the natural resources she came up with the idea of finding unique and creative ways of pebble art. She drew her attention from Satakha subdivision under Zunheboto district where natural resources are in abundant and highly valued. She was fascinated how beautiful a mother nature products can be.
Started her pebble art work in the year 2016. One fine summer, she was given the opportunity to set up “The Pebble Garden ” at the warriors festival organized by Regalia Entertainment Nagaland. Fighting the hurdles of fighting back where not many people knew about pebble art and nobody believed she could make use of pebbles. At times her works were treated with derision but she managed to move forward with positive attitude. This was her first exposure and it all went well.

Iboli zhimo is a demiurgic symbol of pebble arts and its sensation for the past few years in Nagaland. She has inspired many following artists to follow their passion in the arts. Iboli Zhimo has been recognised by many as a recipient of the prestigious Award presented by Women Resource Development, Government of Nagaland during the MYKI Fest Award on 8th of March 2020-2021. She has also been awarded The Best Artist in indigenous items Exhibition held at Western Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu (WSBAK) Triennial Conference, 2017. She is the First Official Pebble Artist Of Regalia Entertainment Nagaland in the Arts area and a Pioneer of Pebble arts in Nagaland. Currently she is running two business firms. The first being “LisStone” which deals with pebble arts and recently she has launched her second creative artistry known as “Iboli_kümla” which deals with hand knitting dolls and creative stuff. Although said to have struggled financially in the beginning of her journey, she is known to be managing very well. She credits her creative arts to the beautiful “Creations of God”.
The most striking feature about her arts is that she uses hard, smooth and unbreakable stones she collects from the Tüzu, Doyang and Zubza rivers. She does not use polished pebbles available online because those are easily breakable. Her creative pebble arts include Frames of different sizes, tea Coaster, bowls, home decors, piggy heads, wall hangings and many more according to customers’ needs and orders. She also makes Pebble Arts photo booths during weddings and special occasions. Her art collection includes frames, bowls, home decors, key chains etc. LiStone also produce wedding favors. She is progressing ahead with her pebble designing introducing new trend of art and encouraging self employment through personal skills and talent. Her art conveys a remarkable example of making use of one’s own skills and ability to produce arts and crafts using our own natural resources. The experience eventually led her to open a pebble art studio at Thahekhu village. She market her products through e-commerce website, Ilandlo_official, her production house and business handles on facebook and instagram.
Her message to the upcoming entrepreneurs, “There is nothing to hold one back except themselves, believe in yourself, dream big, work hard and make it happen“.
