He provides them multiple options to try on with the variety of themes they have at hand. All with different styles and elegance. “It’s very clear and simple, we don’t sell dresses just for the sake of selling it or doing a business, to us it’s to make your dream come true with us.”

 Beginning of the career: How it all started

Avika, brought up by a single mother, grew to be a young ambitious person in the field of business. “When I came to Dimapur for my higher education, I came to know about Social media and at first place it all started with Facebook…then after getting socially active I slowly got to interact with people and learnt  ways of earning for my own expenses. When I passed out on my 10th in the year 2016, with God’s love and mercy, a new job offer came up to me from The Kats Collection, Wedding Dresses Dimapur. they approached me and I became a content handler of their social accounts like Instagram. And gradually, with my skills and talents I moved into sales helping people find their dresses which I still do till date.”

HOW LONG HAS HE BEEN WORKING?

“I’ve been working for the Kats Collection, wedding dresses for 6 years now. I started working after I passed my 10th, and I’m still working for them in the Shillong branch.” The company has been said to have its bridal boutique branch in Kohima, Tura (Meghalaya) and Dimapur as the main branch.

BESIDES THIS CAREER:

Avika loves creating content on social media platforms like Instagram and also spends his spare time playing online games.

Challenging Instances:

Few instances of major challenges he is said to have faced are dealing with different kinds of people from a whole different region. Sometimes the entire process of picking, suggesting and helping out finding  the “perfect dress” within a limited period of time seems to be truly challenging. The work is not as easy as it appears. However, “seeing my brides cry out of joy and happiness” is what makes his career most memorable. “Many of the brides have turned from a complete stranger to becoming my close friends,”  he says. Weddings are considered to be one of  the biggest days for the brides and having assisted them towards this new journey, Avika is known to have “won a lot of hearts”!!

His Big Achievements:

Despite being successful in his career and having said to have achieved several winnings through this career, providing a helping hand to his mother, fulfilling the needs of the family and “bringing a smile on her face is one of the biggest achievements” according to him. Criticisms and Challenges may come across, but Avika knows how to cope with it in his own ways: “Life isn’t easy, if there is hatred that means you’re growing and also I’ve always focused on the positive side, rather than thinking about what others might think of me.” Avika, the ibitterjoy is an optimistic, ambitious and an aspiring individual working under Kats Collection, Wedding Dresses where once given a task, he will get it done and make it worth the wait!
