Presenting to you a talented artist who goes by the name Akangsenep Jamir. His journey as an artist began when he first came across the painting “The return of the prodigal son ” by Rembrandt. He was overwhelmed by the art and adds that it is hard to put into words what he felt but he thought to himself, “I wish I could speak like this painting“. After the overwhelming experience, he subconsciously decided to take the risk of becoming an artist and accept the prospects of it. He goes on to say that the painting left a huge impression on his life and the way he sees art.

He continued that as cliché as it may sound for some people, painting for him has always felt like chasing rainbows. Always seemingly incomplete for some reason. He is always in search of something when he paints, but never truly finds it. Sometimes it’s frustrating, exciting at other times, but the best part is that he gets to enjoy the process of it all. 

He concludes that the pursuit for that ‘something‘ perhaps may never materialize into a concrete answer or form; it well may always remain as a conceptually driven pursuit. Yet, the finding matters little, because in the end, being unsure of certain things pushes him towards the desire to sharpen his skills even more and most importantly, it makes him want to understand the inner workings of his own mind.
